Welcome to American Way Farm
Way "up nawth" in northern NH, where the snowdrifts are big enough to have their own zip codes, life on the farm comes with equal parts work, wonder, and comic relief. I’m Sandy Davis—farmer, storyteller, and frequent victim of livestock with too much personality. Here’s where I share the true (and mostly true) tales of everyday life on American Way Farm—the moments that inspired my book Between the Fenceposts.

We Have Not Forgotten: Honoring the Heroes Who Protect Our Freedom

I received this deeply thought-provoking, one of those messages you’re supposed to forward to everyone you know. Normally, I hit delete on things like that, but this one stopped me in my tracks. I not only forwarded it—I decided to post it here, because it’s a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that keep our freedoms intact.

The email came from a Marine unit stationed in Iraq, and their wish was simple: “Please share this so Americans never forget.” It’s easy, living in comfort, to take that wish for granted. I sit on my couch, watch my big-screen TV, take a hot shower, and sleep in a soft bed—all things I’ve never had to fight for. And that’s the point. Someone else did.

So many men and women have served, sacrificed, and in far too many cases, given everything—just so the rest of us can argue freely, worship freely, speak freely, and live safely. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in politics, complaints, and the noise of daily life that we forget to simply say thank you.

When I picture our troops, I don’t see nameless uniforms. I see faces—young ones, tired ones, brave ones. I see moms and dads, sons and daughters, ordinary Americans doing extraordinary things. I see courage that doesn’t always make the news but deserves to.

We may not be on the battlefield, but we can still fight forgetfulness. We can honor their memory by living with gratitude, standing for what’s right, helping one another, and never taking our blessings lightly.

To every veteran, every active-duty soldier, and every family who’s ever waited at home: we have not forgotten.

SLEEP LAST NIGHT?

Bed a little lumpy? Toss and turn any? Wish the heat was higher? Maybe the a/c wasn't on? Had to go to the john? Need a drink of water? Scroll down:

Yes.. It is like that!
Count your blessings, pray for them, and the next time when the other car cuts you off and you must hit the brakes, or you have to park a little further from Walmart than you want to be, or you're served slightly warm food at the restaurant, or you're sitting and cursing the traffic in front of you, or the shower runs out of hot water, think of them...
Protecting your freedom!

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do
Something to pay tribute
To our fallen comrades So since we are part of the only
Marine Infantry Battalion left in Iraq the one way that we could
Think of doing that is by taking a picture of
Baker Company saying the way we feel.
It would be awesome if you could find a way to share
This with our fellow countrymen.
I was wondering if there was any way to
Get this into your
Papers to let the world know that
'WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN'
And are proud to serve our country.

The attached photo was forwarded from one of the last U.S Marine companies in Iraq. They would like to have it passed to as many people as possible, to let the folks back home know that they remember why they're there and that they remember those who've been lost.
